Individualized learning for Children

A Love For Learning Starts Here

Capitol Child Development Center (CCDC) offers full-year full-day early care and education for children 8 weeks through 5 years of age from diverse communities in the Greater Hartford area. We were founded in 1987 as a model employer-sponsored childcare program by the Connecticut General Assembly. In the decades since, we have fostered the learning and community of hundreds of children and families. Our warm and caring staff are dedicated to nurturing the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of all our kids, from our youngest infants to our most curious preschoolers.

Why Choose Us?

The Perfect Place for Growth and Discovery

At our center, we firmly believe that every child, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, deserves an equal chance at success. We create a safe and inclusive space that encourages creativity, curiosity, and a genuine passion for learning. Our diverse teaching team and culturally sensitive curriculum celebrate our students’ unique backgrounds, nurturing a strong sense of belonging and respect for all.

Exceptional Programs

CCDC programs integrate learning into every moment of the day and support the development of the whole child during these most critical and formative years.

Individualized Learning

We believe each child is an individual with unique abilities, feelings, strengths, and weaknesses and we tailor their care accordingly.

Enriching Curriculum

We are committed to providing a learning environment that exceeds the highest state and national accreditation standards.
